Intro

Welcome to the build blog of my AK427. It's been a very long time happening. I have wanted to build a Cobra replica for around 34 years now, when the likes of the RAM SC etc were still being made.

I spent quite a while looking for the right kit for me. A good combination of accuracy of the marque and excellent design and build support.

It all came together when I visited AK Sportscars on their factory open day back on August 10th of this year. I wasn't able to test drive due to the inclement weather (booked another day for that though!!). It wasn't that I was just exremely impressed by the build quality of  the chassis and body kits but also by the helpful and friendly attitude of the owners, Jon and Wendi.

I placed my order on the 23rd September for the Generation II Body/Chassis Kit when I went for the test drive of Marmite. The Gen II is based on the Jaguar XJ40 running gear.

Update 17th June 2015:- I have since changed my order from Gen II to the Gen III SUPALITE. The body/chassis arrive on the 31st July so not long now.
